As the district attorney is seeking more information on the alleged incident between Chris Brown and girlfriend Rihanna that occurred on Sunday in Los Angeles, the fallout from the story continues to impact both singers’ careers.

Brown, who was arrested and charged with making criminal threats after an alleged altercation that resulted in reported victim Rihanna sustaining serious injuries to her face, has already lost an endorsement deal with the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company. The company, whose Doublemint Gum ads with Brown ran during the Grammys on Sunday night, suspended the campaign earlier this week.

On Tuesday, EW.com reported that “Sesame Street” said it was dropping all future re-broadcasts of Brown’s August 13, 2007, appearance on the show. In the episode, Brown sang the song “See the Signs” and taught Elmo some dance moves.

And though it was unknown at press time if any other outlets were following suit, WAKS FM 96.5 in Cleveland announced that it yanked all Brown songs from its on-air playlist until further notice, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

“After the alleged incident the phones exploded,” WAKS nighttime DJ Java Joel said in a press release. “It’s all that people wanted to talk about. They were outraged at this alleged behavior and wondered why we were continuing to support his music. I agreed and immediately pulled all Chris Brown songs from my show until this thing shakes out in the legal system.”

Following Joel’s comments, station program director Bo Matthews reportedly decided to pull Brown’s music off the station entirely. “It appears that Chris has made some poor choices, we are following the lead of our listeners, and we will not be supporting Chris Brown on 96.5 Kiss FM in Cleveland until the alleged situation gets resolved,” Matthews said.

Brown’s campaign for the long-running “Got Milk?” series was already scheduled to end this week, but the campaign released a statement saying it takes the allegations against the singer “very seriously.” Brown has also bowed out of a number of events he was scheduled to attend at this weekend’s NBA All-Star game in Phoenix.

Rihanna, who is doing “fine,” according to her grandmother, has canceled her Thursday performance in Jakarta, Indonesia, People.com reported. On Tuesday the singer postponed a concert that was to take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Friday. Promoter Pineapple Concerts says that the Malaysia show has been rescheduled for an as-yet-unannounced future date.

Spokespeople for both singers have not returned calls for comment.

Rick Ross =’s Big Fat Liar!

Rick Ross’ self-proclaimed drug kingpin and gang affiliated background took another hit today (February 9) as more illuminating documents made the rounds on the Miami native’s criminal past. The Smoking Gun, the same website that initially broke the story on Ross’ officer background last summer, disclosed a detailed deposition between Officer Rey Hernandez and Ross attorney Allan Zamren.

The heated discussion revolved around specifics of the rapper’s January 2008 arrest on marijuana and gun charges, along with inquiries into his alleged relationship with the infamous Carol City Cartel. “Why is this case assigned to a gang task force?” Zamren demanded.

“Because your client claims affiliation with [the] Carol City Cartel and other known gang members,” Officer Hernandez replied, hinting at the various songs of Ross alluding to the alleged relationship.
“Do you have anything that shows you he was affiliated with any gang?” Zamren further questioned. “Or [of] yout own personal knowledge today?” “No, I do not,” Hernandez stated.

While both parties in the transcript differ on whether Ross should face a judge for the charges, both agreed there was no evidence from reputed members of the Carol City Cartel that Ross had any ties to the organization.

The Smoking Gun, which argues the Miami emcee has become delusional with his rap persona, titled the six-page piece “Rick Ross’s Hood Dreams.” Rick Ross and newfound rival 50 Cent remain locked in battle of one-upmanship as both seek to drum up support for their respective forthcoming albums; Deeper Than Rap (March 24) and Before I Self-Destruct(tentatively March 2009).

After initially being an unconventional battle waged mostly outside the booth, both stars have released diss records in the last few days: 50 Cent with “I’ll Be the Shooter,” and Ross with “Valley of Death.” The two albums will be the first high-profile, mainstream Hip-Hop projects released this year. At press time, neither Rick Ross nor his lawyer could be reach for comment.

Rick, C’mon, we all know you’re a fake, so PLEASE stop fooling yourself!

Chris’ friend say’s Rihanna was injured in a car crash!

February 10, 2009 by JoshRoshad

A friend of Chris is now talking:

[Rihanna is] outrageously jealous and insecure. So [Chris] would get into arguments and fights with her. He never hit her once but she’d [allegedly] smack him, bite him and scratch him and once he even got hit in the balls kinda’ hard. So [she] got into the habit of hitting him because to her it was fine since he never hit her back.

[On Saturday night, Chris] finally told her to shut the f*ck up and it’s over. So she socked the shit out of him while he was driving and kept on hitting him until he crashed into a parked car.

[Chris] then got out of the car and tried to pull her out and got hit in the face some more numerous times. Scratched up and everything.

Simply because he was done with all of the drama. Anyway when she smacked him this last time he smacked her back. So he [left Rihanna there alone].

Hurt from banging her face on the windshield/dashboard from the car accident [somebody] then called the cops and [Rihanna] told them that [Chris] whipped her ass.

[Later the next day, Chris] wanted to go get his things from her apt to go to a hotel and saw a million cop cars there.

So he left and when he sent us to retrieve his stuff, this girl didn’t want to let us get his 6 bags of stuff. She said tell him to come get it himself … Tell him to answer his phone and that I’m sorry we can work this out. To which I said, hell no my friend isn’t coming anywhere near here. It’s too late for all of that. He just wants his luggage and you guys need never to see each other anymore….

Sh*t happens was definitely in effect and it’s crazy how everyone can jump on a woman’s side and not know what happened. Hind sight is 20/20 and I told [him that] he should’ve gotten out of the car and called the cops on her a*s when it was just him with scratches and shit.
This seems like a very interesting story. Of course we have absolutely no way to know whether it’s true or just damage control.

It does get a little tricky however. You’ll recall that initially both Rihanna and Chris’ people were claiming that Rihanna was injured in a “traffic accident.” Also, according to TMZ, their Lamborghini was towed from the scene of the alleged assault in Hancock Park to a nearby police impound lot. Could the car have been damaged???

*UPDATE* Wrigley Suspends Chris Brown ad campaign

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Wrigley says it’s suspending ad campaigns featuring Chris Brown as its spokesman for Doublemint gum.

The company stopped short of saying they will drop the troubled R&B star completely.

A company statement expresses concern about what it calls “serious allegations made against Chris Brown.” He was arrested Sunday night for an alleged battery on a woman, and canceled his Grammy performance.

Wrigley said it would suspend any current advertising or any related marketing until the situation is resolved, adding that the 19-year-old should be “afforded the same due process as any citizen.”

The golf star Tiger Woods and wife Elin welcome a new addition to their family:

“Elin and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our son, Charlie Axel Woods,” the golfer, 33, wrote on his Web site. “Both Charlie and Elin are doing great…Sam is very excited to be a big sister and we feel truly blessed to have such a wonderful family.”

Woods was due to compete at Torrey Pines in the final round of the Buick, which he’s won six times — but said last week that he’d skip the competition — the first time he’s missed it in 11 years — if his wife went into labor.

Woods and Elin Nordegren are already parents to daughter Sam Alexis, who was born on June 19, 2007 — the day after he came in second at the U.S. Open.

Snoops looking for a new label to call home!

It looks like Snoop Dogg is on the prowl for a new label to record with and call home as he has since parted ways with Interscope:

Snoop Dogg has confirmed with AllHipHop.com that he will no longer record with Interscope, his label home for over 10 years. The split comes nearly one year after the release of Snoop’s ninth studio album, Ego Trippin’.

Lead by the crossover, 80s inspired ballad “Sexual Eruption,” the LP debuted at #3 on Billboard’s Top 200, but fell short of gold certification. While the West Coast veteran declined to give specific details on the reason for the sudden split, Snoop verified there will not be any final albums with Interscope. “We are pushing the envelope on getting everything finalized,” Snoop told AllHipHop.com exclusively. “But I will not be releasing anymore projects under Interscope/Geffen.”

In his first tenure with Interscope under Death Row Records, Snoop released his classic, 4X platinum debut Doggystyle (1993), the platinum Murder Was the Case soundtrack (1994), and the double platinum sophomore solo Tha Doggfather (1996).

After moving to Master P’s No Limit Records for 3 albums from 1998-2000, and briefly to Capitol/EMI in 2002, Snoop returned to Interscope via the Geffen imprint with 2004’s well-received, platinum album R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta): The Masterpiece, 2006’s The Blue Carpet Treatment (gold), and finally 2008’s Ego Trippin’.

To date, Snoop Dogg is estimated to have sold over 15 million records worldwide during his tenure with Interscope.

At press time, Snoop has declined on divulge his next possible label home.
